About Norm
Education
With a BS in Agricultural/Food Processing Engineering from the University of California at Davis, and an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix, Norm has built a robust career in the food processing and manufacturing industry.
In 2023 Norm became a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional earning his CMRP designation through SRMPCO.
Experience
He has proven himself as a transformational leader, improving processes in Engineering and Maintenance. Norm has spent 25 years learning about and teaching best practices in Maintenance Excellence and enjoys leading culture change from reactive to proactive maintenance.
His 37 years’ experience in the Food Industry includes leadership roles at Kraft Foods, Campbell Soup Supply Company, Sara Lee Corporation, ConAgra Foods, and General Mills. Norm is currently the Senior Manager of Enterprise Maintenance and Reliability at Amy’s Kitchen, where he manages the strategic improvement of maintenance programs at three food manufacturing sites.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated success in transforming Maintenance through a systematic approach of applying systems thinking to the 8 core Maintenance systems built on a foundation of Great Leadership. He has a history of improved KPI tracking, reducing spend, improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime through the implementation of best practices in the core systems of maintenance.

Active in Maintenance & Reliability
Norm recently Founded Assets Ascension, a Maintenance & Reliability Consulting and Training Company. His passion for improving Maintenance & Reliability and his love for Teaching others can now be expanded to help Maintenance Departments improve across the globe.
He is currently enjoying his role improving the Maintenance systems in all three plants for Amy’s Kitchen with a focus on implementing best practices to achieve Maintenance Excellence.
